The rules a machine can check

A brand system is only enforceable if it is written as rules rather than taste. These five are, and three of them are checked in code on this site.

The lockup

Three approved colorways and nothing else. On anything darker than Paper, the reversed lockup is the only legal one.

Mark alone

Square, for favicons and badge corners. Flat butt ends against the seam. A round cap turns it into a generic swirl.

Color

Moss is the one to protect. It carries a single meaning , recycled-content figures, and a moss-colored number that is not a recycled percentage is a defect rather than a style choice.

The five rules

The mark is never recoloured, rotated, or set on a busy photograph. Three approved lockups exist. On anything darker than Paper, the reversed lockup is the only legal one.
Kraft carries SKUs and rules. Moss carries recycled-content figures and nothing else. One accent, one meaning. A moss number that is not a recycled percentage is a bug.
Certification badges are resolved from the SKU record, never placed by hand.
Every dimension is stated internal, in millimeters, in L × W × D order.
Recycled content is banded, never implied. 0–39, 40–69, 70–100.

Three of these are enforced in code on this site. Rule 3 resolves every badge row from the SKU record. Rule 4 states every dimension internal, in millimeters, in L × W × D order, straight from the record. Rule 5 shows the band and the figure as two separate labelled facts on every family page.
