About CambiumPak

Mailers, cartons, molded pulp, void fill and tape. All fiber, all recyclable in the same stream, all specified to a published board grade and a tested load.

Why we started

Packaging that calls itself sustainable usually is not, quite. A padded mailer with a bubble liner. A carton sealed with plastic tape. Each asks the person opening it to pull the pack into two material streams, and almost nobody does.

So we build the other way round. Everything in the range is fiber, including the cushioning and the tape. What leaves our line arrives as one material.

Fiber is a crop with a long rotation. Everything we make is either this, grown for the purpose, or paper that has already been round once.

Sustainability

One material in, one material out

Every part of the pack is fiber, including the parts that usually are not: the cushioning, the liner, the corner protection and the tape.

Paper cushioning has to beat bubble film on protection, not on sentiment. Otherwise the pack fails, the parcel ships twice, and that is worse for everything than the film would have been.

What we promise

Four commitments, each checkable against a figure published on this site.

01

Paper in, paper out

Every product is fiber. Nothing to separate out before the pack goes in the bin.

02

Published, not on request

Grades, loads and lead times are on the page. No phoning a rep for a number.

03

Banded, never rounded

A verified figure by weight and a band. We never round up, and never publish one without the other.

04

Flat until you need it

Ships flat, makes up at the bench. You are not paying to freight air.

Quality and testing

Board is only as good as the figure you can hold it to. Every tested figure we publish is tied to a size, not to a range.

Board and burst

Published per size on the spec sheet for every family.

Transit drop

Corner, edge and face, loaded to the rated gross weight, not a nominal one.

Recycled content

Verified by mill declaration and lot sampling. Where a size differs, we say so against the size.

Every tested figure shown on this site is provisional and not independently certified.

Mills and converting

One on each coast, so lead times do not depend on where you pack.

Eugene, Oregon

Head office, milling and molded pulp tooling. Wet-press forming for trays, guards and corner protection.
